If I were fire (Translation)

If I were fire, I would burn the world;
if I were wind, I would bestorm it;
if I were water, I would drown it;
if I were God, I would hurl it into the deep;

If I were Pope, I would be happy then,
as I would harry all the Christians;
if I were emperor, d’you know what I would do?
I would chop off all their heads completely
(like a rotary scythe).

If I were death, I would go to my father;
if I were life, I would run from him,
and I would do the same for my mother.

If I were Cecco, as I am and have been,
I would take for myself all the young and pretty women,
and leave the lame and ugly ones for others.

Journalist Mila Kudrina, who lives in Moscow with her husband and son, published on Facebook her recollection for the great film director Rangel Valchanov, who is her father, although she and her mother, the singer Greta Gancheva, were not married. The commemoration is on the occasion of the 95th birth anniversary of Rangel Valchanov, who passed away in 2013, shortly before his 85th birthday.

 

This is what Mila Kudrina wrote on her Facebook profile:

 

"Am I stupid, what am I, but I keep running as if life will never end. It seems best not to stop.” Rangel Valchanov (wrote) would have turned 95 today (October 12, 1928 – September 30, 2013). With him, Bulgarian cinema has its own unique Artistry. No one like Rangel can charm so powerfully with tradition and nihilism, with Shopian [shoppi] devilry and fantasy shrapnels.

 

Today, Bulgaria has no particular reasons whatever to be proud, but the mere mention of Rangel Valchanov is a signal to raise one’s head. A carnival entertainer and frivolous sage, since the 1950s he has been the embodiment of the Game as overtrumping between air and earth, spirit and matter, intuition and thought. Few in Bulgarian culture are his equal.

 

He is our film colossus without a "Golden Rose" [award], but with a popular conviction that he stands alone. Rangel was the unique one of Bulgarian cinema, without whose volcanic fantasy it would have been much more fragile. Between "On the Small Island" (1958) and "And Where To Today" (2007), he created 17 feature films and several documentaries, each conceived and completed [in full] as a "restless bird", and most of them were volleys of freedom in a society of ideological obedience.

 

Regardless of whether it was for the colorful and vital stream of consciousness in his long-suffering masterpiece for the Bulgarian doom "The Patent Shoes of the Unknown Warrior" (1979), whether it was the headlong wandering through the absurd in "The Sun and the Shadow" (1962), "The She-Wolf" (1965), "Last Wishes" (1982), "Where Are You Traveling To" (1986), "And Now Where To" (1988), "The Restless Love Bird" (1990) or "And Where To Today", was it the experimentation with genres and aesthetics in "The Inspector and the Night" (1963), "Escape to Ropotamo" (1973), "With Love and Tenderness" (1978) or "Fatal Tenderness" (1993), Rangel Valchanov breaks down barriers with unforgiving ease and winged nihilism. Emerging in the motley tumult of images, paradoxes, reminiscences, references, reflections and suggestions, is his impressive universe of an Artist. Hundreds of pages have been written about it. But now that everything is in the past, the great recapitulation of his work is yet to come.

 

The legacy left to us by Rangel Valchanov is priceless - not only as films, roles, productions and books, but also as a position, (and) communication. His living charm is unique. To him, neither age nor illness were a cause for despondency.

 

In 2019, Kosta Bykov created "Rangel Forever" - his second documentary about Rangel Valchanov after "Journey Between Two Films" (1998)...

In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit!

       Today, beloved, you and I commemorate St. John Archbishop of Shanghai and San Francisco the Wonderworker. Many Orthodox outside the Russian local Church also venerate sacred the memory of the St. John and assiduously revere him. A sad fact is, however, that some dare to employ the saint’s name deviously! For ‘ecclesiastical and would-be-politician’ purposes – no matter how ridiculous this last phrase may sound. The year is 2005. Negotiations are underway between Commissions of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad with its then Primate – Archbishop Laurus, and the Moscow Patriarchate – an MP Commission, with the aim to achieve unification. Two ROCOR priests refer to places of texts by St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco the Wonderworker: one – [refers to] his decree [ukaz] of September 1945 and the other – to his address to the congregation of July 1946 – in order to prove that the Shanghai Saint participated in a unifying process of the ROCOR Diocese in China with the Moscow Patriarchate then – in the postwar years – a process similar to the modern one. I feel a particular sense of severity when someone or some [more] employ the authority or the memory of a God’s pleaser, of a holy man in order to defend their own ‘ecclesiastical and would-be-politician’ purposes.

About the end of the world.
 

 1. About the reason for man’s apostasy from God

He that believeth on the Son (of God) hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him” (John 3:36).

 

So defines the unfalse Word of God. This determination of the Word of God takes place, in particular, over people, and takes place over entire nations. It happened with particular obviousness over the people of Israel, who were originally chosen by God's people, and subsequently became a predominantly outcast people. In the womb of the Israelite people, the God-man became human and accomplished the salvation of mankind; to no other people did he address his divine sermon; all His blessings He poured out exclusively on the chosen people; the chosen people rejected the God-man. In vain for fifteen centuries the divinely inspired legislator of Israel proclaimed terrible executions to him if he disobeyed God. In vain, for a whole millennium, the royal prophet of Israel delivered an exhortation to Israel about accepting the Redeemer granted by God to mankind: accept the punishment (kiss the Son — according to the translation from the Hebrew), lest He be angry, and ye perish from the way, when His wrath be kindled but a little” (Ps.2:12). In vain was Moses recited every Saturday, in vain were the psalms of David sung at every divine service, in vain were the threats of the holy legislator and the exhortation of the holy king repeated: the Jews rejected the Savior, stretched out their god-killing hands on the incarnate God. They reckoned the All-Perfect God to the category of criminals and gave him a reproachful execution as a criminal, as a criminal among criminals.

Този вид напътствие не е дадено на нашето време – и честно казано, ние в своята слабост, корупция и грехове не го заслужаваме.

While sorting through the letters received by Leonid Ivanovich from Bishop Athanasius, I found a message in which Vladyka, addressing “one person”, calls on his spiritual children to start visiting churches. Here Bishop Athanasius tells about his disagreements with Metropolitan Sergius (Stragorodsky) . But in order to understand what is at stake, we will have to go back to 1922, to the beginning of Vladyka's torment.

It was then, in the 22nd, shortly after ow. Athanasius became bishop of Kovrovsky, vicar of Metropolitan Sergius (Stragorodsky) , a dramatic story of their relationship began, which led to a break.

- Че какво й е, на гората? - попита Василе.

Резултати от научни изследвания на новозаветни текстове и тяхното богословско тълкуване

Научното изучаване на Новия Завет започва с появата на книгопечатането, когато издателите на гръцкия текст на Новия Завет се натъкват на проблема как да се справят с многобройните несъответствия в достигналите до нас ръкописи. Първоначално учените се ограничават до това, което по-късно се нарича текстология: сравнение на гръцки ръкописи, древни преводи, цитати от раннохристиянски автори, за да се премахнат грешките и изкривяванията, които са неизбежни при многократно пренаписване, и да се пресъздаде най-древният текст.1 Въпреки това, до края на XVIII - началото на XIX век. религиозната свобода е достигнала такова ниво, че е станало възможно да се повдигат въпроси, които надхвърлят текстовата критика и засягат еволюцията на самото съдържание на новозаветните текстове и тяхното тълкуване като формиране и развитие на християнското вероучение. До каква степен традицията, записана в евангелията, възхожда до самия Иисус? Каква е историческата достоверност на евангелските разкази за Неговия живот и проповеди? Възможно ли е да се отдели провъзвестяването на Иисус от допълненията и промените, внесени от първохристиянската църква, и по този начин да се установи как самият Той разбира своята мисия? И накрая, до каква степен провъзгласяването на "историческия" Иисус и Неговата представа за Самия Себе Си и за Своята мисия съответстват на догматичното учение на християнската Църква, което се развива през първите векове на нашата ера?
